Beautiful Paintings

As it is the school holidays my school are doing the summer learning journey so that we improve our learning over the summer. For this activity, I had to make a description of Vincent Van Gogh's picture Starry Night. I borrowed the picture from Flickr. I think I have made a great description.

    Well done for participating in the Summer Learning Journey and creating this post about cracking the code through careful observation!
    You have done an excellent job describing what you can see in Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’.
    I like the way you have described the picture as a ‘very complex portrayal of a night sky’. The way you have worded this is fantastic, and I completely agree with your statement.
    This particular painting is one of my favourites because of the golden sun, the clouds which are painted with such an array of colours, and the detail which has gone into the sky and village.
    I think it was very clever of you to point out Vincent’s use of oil paints for the texture, and his shading around the stars.
    Vincent Van Gogh truly was such an amazing artist who inspired so many others with his work.
    Have you seen any of Vincent Van Gogh’s other paintings? If so, which ones did you like?
    I enjoy drawing and painting. Whenever I’m feeling a little bit down, I always pull out my sketchbook and draw, and it makes me feel so much better!
