Wicked Waitakiri

In Inquiry, this term one of the things we could do was to advertise a local business. I did this and chose to do it on Waitakiri Golf Club as I regularly play golf there. We had to say why you should go there and talk about it a bit. I think I have done a great job and it took a lot of time. I made it on Google Sites. Superb Sports

For the last three weeks at school, we have been designing our own sports game. We are doing this in groups. I am with my friends Scott, Zac, Kaia and Kayla. We have done a twist on one of our favourite sports. I hope you like it :).

Rad Red Ball

In literacy this week we have been reading a book called The Red Book. In the book, there are two sisters called Ida and May. May is always better than May at everything despite being younger. One day when the principal announces May is going to the national athletics championships Ida got really angry. she starting wishing for her sister to disappear. One day a fairy came and told Ida that she could make May disappear. Ida said yes and May disappeared. When May disappeared Ida realised that she wanted May as her sister. she asked the fairy to make her come back. The fairy made 2 duplicates of May as well as the original and placed them in a line. She said "if you can guess which one May is without coming close then you two can go. If not then I keep her here forever". Ida knew that May would jump for a ball if she got one thrown at her so Ida threw it and May caught. Ida guessed the right one and they lived happily ever after.

We had to make a storyboard of them throughout different stages of their lives and what they would be doing at that point in their lives. I did it on a website called Storyboard That. Here it is:

Crazy China

Hi Bloggers,

This week in reading we have been learning about the gold miners in Otago. To show our understanding we had to make a map of one of the key places. We had to include a key, a compass and co-ordinates. I chose to make a map of China because lots of the gold miners came from there. It was really fun to make this map and I learnt lots of new techniques on computers.

Crazy Coding

Hi bloggers, are you enjoying school at the moment?
Every Thursday the year 5´s do cybersafety. While they are doing cybersafety we are designing our own sport in groups. First, we had to go on Code.Org and use their design a sport section. I had lots of fun doing this and it was really fun to play. To play it click on this link.
